Devlog - 4/21/26


Welcome to this month's devlog everybody! I'll be doing it this today, so what's all going on in the past month or so?

Well for starters, you guys should've noticed in the image that Tails is finally, after months of doing other things, FULLY completed! That's right, Maye got to work on the rework of his Fiery Depths level, and it has been made almost completely from the ground up! So what does this mean? Just in general, the level is much more fleshed out (going from a measly 0:45-1:00 minute long level to around 3:30-4:00) and adds and reenovates level gimmicks from the demo!

So even if you've played the Tails demo previously, his section still has new things to offer you in the full release!

For our other routes; Knuckles has been going smoothly too! Almost all of his character sprites are done aside from one full animation, which is the last one we need to release our beta test to our beta testers (F.Y.I, if you want to be a part of that feel free to ask). I took a break from sprite art, so this hold up internally is on me, but I'm hoping to finish that up and release the beta test this week for them. This might have already been stated, but Knuckles' MAIN ROUTE (excluding the secret path) is complete from start to finish! All we need to do for him is finish up the tiles for the secret level and make the level design for him, and he'll be done!

Eggman has been coming along smoothly in the background as well. A lot of his misc. stuff like the data select and intro screens are mostly done at this point, aside from a few sprites needing to be finished, and Maye and I have been working hard to nail his gameplay style before we move onto designing any levels. Music for him, actually, has been going great as well! As far as I'm aware, there should only be one or two tracks that truly need to be finished for his section before we can say for sure that music wise, his section is finished.

We've been holding out on saying what "other" is for right now, because as it currently stands it isn't a main focus as we want to finish up the main game, but concepts and other things are being made in the background slowly as we focus on main game development!

That's it for this month's Devlog, we might open up Beta Tester applications as we near closer to our next big Beta Test, but other than that that's where we're at!
