DEVLOG #4 (alert: MUCHO TEXTO)


As promised here is the devlog 4, in this post I will talk about the updates I made to the game as and as other things. So let's start right away with...


HISTORY

The story of ABD will be almost the same as the original FNATI, you and Jake who goes to work for S.S.A and stays on Discovery Island for 5 or more nights surviving the toons and other creatures, the classic story that everyone knows, but of course there will be its differences, the main one being that Jake's past will be changed based on the lets begin show (yes there will be other fangames but I'll explain that later), this past will be an explanation of why he works for S.S.A and his motivations for going For DI, another thing that will be changing in the story is the main antagonist, the mother. The mother in the game will have a similar appearance to the one in 2.0, being an all-white woman and wearing the same dress as the Greek Gods wore (and with hair too lol).

Her story hasn't been thought out yet, but like Jake's it will be different and maybe even something new... well I think it will be something new since it will be very cliché, but I think it will be good.

And how am I going to show Jake's past and mother new story? it will be through minigames, like those from FNAF, with the only difference that you will only watch, like a cutscene, maybe I will add a minegame that you actually play, but so far then it will be a cutscene.

Another thing I can't help but mention is the FNATI fan games that will be in the story, currently there will be 3, Lets the show begin, original revamp and NBD. These fangames will be part of the game's main story.

"BUT RYAN, WILL THERE BE ANY CONTENT RELATED TO THESE FANGAMES??????"

So... I don't know. So far I've only thought about including the NBD, as a bonus night or a game mode (I'll explain these game modes below) in addition to the characters already being confirmed in the game, but now the other two... possibly not. LTSB maybe there will be a bonus night but OR there won't be anything, just in terms of relationships in the story and maybe the characters will appear in the custom night but I can't promise anything. I could put oblitus home, but it will be so different (practically everything in this game will be different) that I'm not considering it.

Now enough talking about the story, let's talk about something more interesting... how about...


GAMEPLAY AND MECHANICS.

The gameplay will be in the classic FNAF style, staying in an office just looking from one side to the other, with the original FNATI mechanics, turning off the cameras and hiding under the office, with some new mechanics such as Ortencia's role and the flashlight , perhaps there are other mechanics, but so far these are the ones that are confirmed.

During the game the gameplay will change, especially on the 3rd night when there will be pirate caves (if I want to make a good FNATI fangame I have to include pirate caves), in the other modes the gameplay and mechanics will not change much, they will be almost similar .

Since we're talking about mechanics, why not talk about character mechanics:

-PNM, Oswald and Disemborn: have the same mechanics that if they are in your office you must turn off a camera to avoid them, among them the only one who will kill you is the PNM, Oswald will only steal your monitor and Disemborn will do this its classic hellish noise.

-Ortencia: will materialize in your notebook, delete it to avoid it. If she fully materializes, she will steal your lantern.

-Acephalos: will appear in your office, hide to avoid him, otherwise he will kill you.

-Imputyt: will laugh, look for her on the cameras and turn off the camera, otherwise she will kill you.

-Willy: has different mechanics for each form, the first one he turns towards his office and you must turn off a camera to avoid him, otherwise he will go to the next form, the second form will be the same as in FNATI 6.0, no look at him in the cameras for a long time, otherwise he will change to the next form, the third form will start to summon some 'towers' (I don't know what I can call it) when it appears you should look for Willy in the cameras and turn them off, if n, it will change to the next form, the fourth form will be the three mechanics together XD.

-Undying: will appear in your office, turn off the generator.

-Shades: when the generator is off they appear, use a flashlight or hide to avoid them, each of the Shades has a different wood to avoid them, but you will only need these two mechanics.

I didn't talk about the rest of the characters because I haven't thought about their mechanics yet.

I have already finished the main mechanics (turning off the cameras and hiding) they are already finished and working correctly (according to my beta tests).

I was planning to show a gameplay of the game, but there is a lot to add if I want to make it "cool", it will still take a long time to show a little gameplay due to this and other problems

GAME MODES.

The game modes will be what you expect, game modes that change the gameplay and others. I will mention what will be in the game and the possibilities:

-Story Mode

The story mode will be the main mode of the game, telling the main story of the game with 6 nights, 3 of which are pirate caves. In this mode there will be 21 characters, it could even be a lot of characters, but remember that I am based on Abandoned Discovery Island and if you know the game you know that it has a LOT of characters, so I had to balance the number of characters. During the game, other characters will appear, some will kill you and others will not, these characters will replace one of the 21 or just appear to say hi, the vast majority will be canonical and even have a role in other modes, but the ones that will not be canonical characters will be fun characters, with a bonus night with these characters.

The pirate caves will be in this mode (as said before), there will be 3 floors and the guy will try to kill you, I'll try to put together a puzzle for fun but I don't know if I'll be able to code a puzzle, so I can't promise nothing.

-Custon Chaos.

This mode will be a UCN, containing more or less 60 characters (I'm still deciding), it will take place in Story mode, with the same office, same map and mechanics, but won't all be the same, will have new mechanics and a new map ( the pirate caves).

This mode is based on Chaos at Treasure Island, but I don't want to do something the same, since we have several CTI, and I don't want it to be the same thing, I want it to be more unique (to be honest, I want this game to be more unique)

The skins will only be in these modes, with 50 oc skins from the ADI RP Wiki, other FNATI and FNAF fangames, some original things and other games that are not related to FNAF.

I intend to put the skins in this modo but if the game codes don't make them look like in Story mode, but if you liked it maybe I'll let it... maybe.

-Hell Below Disney

Well, I said above that I might add a mode based on NBD, well, I still don't know if it will be a mode or an extra night, but it's worth saying what it will be like in the game (and if something stops me from adding that mode, the characters were in the game).

The story thus takes place during Greg's nightmares. Before Jake arrived on the island, he went there to get some things and see if Henry was okay, and let's just say he was a little traumatized. During the events of Story mode, Greg suffers severe nightmares about the nightmare characters.

The gameplay and mechanics will be identical to NBD, but of course, with differences. The main one is the monitor, which will not be a monitor, it will be a TV, like FNAW 4 but the cameras will still be cameras and no TV channels.

To change the camera you have to press some buttons to change channels (which will be in the place where the sounds come out), there will also be some buttons that will be for other mechanics (examples: shock and flash) and to move the camera from one side to the other and a button (I think it's a button) to change the volume.

The nightmares, like the main characters, will be reimagined into something more distorted, being totally different from the originals, but all based on the game's original models. The ink-blots will also appear in the game along with the nightmares, they will also be reimagined, having more "ink" and melted. With a total of 13 characters in total (7 nightmare and 6 Ink-blot).

-Bonus Nights

The bonus nights will be different from the Game mode, they won't be something complex with different mechanics and characters, no, they will be something more silly and fun. The only 100% confirmed bonus night is Nonsense Night, an absurd night with funny characters and strange mechanics.

There will be other nights, but they are the ones I listed above, the LTBS and NBD nights, but unlike the night that non sense, these will possibly not enter the game, as one unnecessary and the other has more chances of becoming a mode of game.

CHARACTERS AND MODELS.

Let's start by saying that the models will AGAIN receive a redsign, this time it was because of the lore which in the beginning were toons mixed with mascots but I decided to cut them because it didn't make sense, but there will still be a large number of toons being: Oswald, Ortencia , The Face etc. The ones that will change are: PNM, Acephalous, Impuryt, etc., I don't want to talk about them all because there are many and I don't have the patience to talk about them all. I know it can be annoying for you to keep changing designs all the time, but I promise this will be the last time, if I change it will be something very small. And yes, all the models I've shown so far have been discarded or updated like Oswald, Willy and Disembody (lie, it's still the same thing). Now I'm going to show you all the models that I redid and that I've already shown, there will be some that I haven't finished yet but I still want to show,
