Devlog 4 - April 2020

Things are starting to wrap up! At this point everything is implemented and I'm preparing to announce the release date. First I'll be putting out the game's steam page, which should happen in the next few weeks. Shortly after that I'll be announcing a release date, and then the game will be out and available! Hurray!

This game has been really fun to work on. I started it in August and more or less finished it in March, so that's a nice ripe 8 months. Goal was 6 months, but oh well. Plans changed a bit in December and January, so 8 months is pretty good considering that. I'm very proud of what the game has become and am really hoping people will enjoy it.

The gameplay will be fundamentally the same as the demo but with 20 levels to complete, as opposed to 8 in the demo, and twice as many spells to find. It'll also feature 4 unlockable characters, each with a strong starting spell and drawback to compensate. There will also be a custom mode where you can pick any combination of spells you've discovered from any of the 5 starting locations.

So... yeah! Stay tuned as this page gets updated in preparations for release. I'd like to announce the release date in... 3 weeks maybe?

Nojong, an arcade mashup of Tetris and Mahjong is out now!

9 Till Void is going to get a free public demo on Saturday, February 29th! (It's a leap year, if you've forgotten!)

The demo will feature the first 2 areas of the game in full.

Sorry for the double post if you follow me as well as this game. i meant to just post this to this game anyway though. so here it is again!

For some reason, it's really hard to change the alpha value of a tile layer in GameMaker. You can do this easily for sprite or instance layers, but not tile layers. So here's a video on how to easily update the alpha value of tile layers in real time.

The Demo is available now for free!!!

The demo features:

1 Game mode (at least 2 in full game)

8 Levels (20 in full game)

10 Enemies (24 in full game)

36 Spells to find (72 in full game)

Enjoy!

I'm developing a new commercial game with a small team! A demo will be coming to steam soon, but you can wishlist it in the meantime if you're into deckbuilding / autobattlers / roguelikes!
