What’s up, everyone? Been getting a bit more frequent with the devlogs, huh? Hope it's helped convince you we actually mean to get something out.
Before we get started today, I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Undertale Anniversary! Undertale holds a special place in all of our hearts, and it’s great to see that another year has gone by with an active community still flourishing to this day.
That being said, we have another devlog for today! As you can see from the devlog title, we now have designs for Napstablook, Papyrus, and Sans! (We have one for Undyne too, but we gotta let some things sit before we show ‘em. Let’s get right into what we have to show off today!
Character Showcase
Frisk
Once again, Frisk has been revamped, and the style is slightly more true to the UTDR style. Let us know your thoughts! Better or worse than the last one?
Flowey
Flowey also got a rework! Not as big of one as Frisk, just a color and stem adjustment.
Napstablook
Everyone’s favorite ghost! Their unblinking red eyes stare straight into your soul…
Sans
IT’S SANS!!1! AKA Mr. Skeleton Man himself. With a fluffy coat, a golden tooth, and a rad (if unnecessary) pair of earmuffs, he’s ready to…
Papyrus
THE GREAT PAPYRUS takes the form of a GREAT PAPIRATE in Colossusfell. His flowing cape and gnarly hat leaves him ready to set sail on those frozen seas.
Progress Thus Far
Progress is going fairly well! While the mini-demo may be short, we’re still working hard to make sure there’s plenty of content within.
As of this devlog, every single room for the mini-demo has been created.
The entirety of the script is done.
I’d say around 80-90% of the necessary assets are finished and ready for implementation (still working on some random encounter and OW stuff)
Every track that will appear in the mini-demo is composed, and up on the game jolt.
And for some non--mini-demo related stuff:
Four other main cast characters have overworld sprites, and two main cast characters have battle sprites.
Scripts for the entirety of the Flooded Temples are complete, with only some geno and reset-variant dialogue being the truly necessary things at this point.
All the main fights of the game (Pacifist, Neutral, Genocide) are planned, but missing scripts.
For The Future
At the moment, our plans for a December release on the mini-demo are looking strong! We’re looking forward to showing you all that we’ve been working on, and we really hope you enjoy it!
