Edit: Reuploaded to the Pitch Black devlog page.
I'm having lots of fun adding these different mushrooms. Red ones are the default mushrooms. They don't do much other than be fun to walk through due to their swaying back and forth and the sounds they make. I am also making other mushrooms that I won't show off quite yet, but all the others will have a unique function, like one that puffs up toxic gases which kill you if you breathe it in too many times. But there will also be ones that can help you, so it's good to experiment (but not too much). Each type will also have unique sounds. The default mushroom is already satisfying to touch as it sways, so I can't wait to make the deadly ones fun to play with, too!
The save system also needs improving because, at the moment, you only have one save per computer. I just checked, and the game does have the capability of multiple saves, but the ability to switch between saves is missing. I still haven't done much with the rest of act 1, though. The first of three areas is pretty much done, but nothing else. All I've done since I've gotten back to working on the game is improve it. I think I'm just going to improve the save system, finish implementing the different, unique fungi, build the last puzzle of the first area, and then finally start on the second area of Act 1, which is, luckily for me, the easiest of the three.
However, my two other games, Home Grown and SHaD: R, have been left behind. Right now, I've just been working tirelessly on Pitch Black, forgetting about my other games. Home Grown isn't as high on my list since it's not planned to release anytime soon. However, I'll probably need to write a longer thread on SHaD: R and what I'm planning for it. If I'm being honest, I only announced SHaD: R because I had started improving all the characters' designs, same for the diner. Anyway, this is a devlog for Pitch Black, so I'll leave that discussion for when I publish the Six Hours at Diddle's: Reawakened game page.
In conclusion: Pitch Black's development is going great! So, I plan to see you all in pitch black, possibly very soon...
