Devlog entry #1 - What this game means to me

Hi! I want to start this blog about the development of a challenge. It's not just a game, it's my first step in realizing a childhood dream, and to overcome an adulthood problem. I hope you follow me on this journey and become part of it if you fell in your heart that you must. Do you know why?

For a lot of reasons, I had a great 2019. Part of that was to become a more relaxed and confident person - something that I never was. I was always worrying about doing all too perfect, never letting any detail unattended and, above all, only doing things that will take me somewhere. That means I was depriving myself of dreaming.

Why spend energy on a dream? Why will I dedicate my time to do something that is not related to building a career?

But then I realize it: I was doing worthless things all the time. Things that were worthless not because they didn't help me in my career, but because they didn't help me at all.

Now, I don't fall in the infinite scrolling trap of social media anymore; I don't waste my time watching list videos on Youtube. Now, I'm using my energy to follow my dreams. One of them is to develop a game - a long lost dream.

This text adventure game is the first. I want to make a lot more. But, this is one of the most important I'll ever make, because it's my first step. Both for crossing the "never did" barrier, and for learning.

I'm so excited to do it. Don't know how long it will take (I'm trying to keep things simple, to do it as fast as I can), but I want to invite you to follow my journey. I will share everything I learn (and the code too). And I would love it if you share what you already know.

Thank you for being here with me.
