Heya!
So for the past little while I've been working on making cutscenes, and progress has been slow, but I've finally made a breakthrough in the programming! The overworld map for Chapter Zero is pretty simple and easy, and there's no battle in it, so cutscenes is basically the only hard thing I have to do for this chapter.
So here's what a Chapter Zero checklist would look like:
Build all cutscenes. I'm about 75% through the first big one, and after that there are a few small ones and one other big one.
Build the overworld map. Again, won't be too difficult, but will take just a little bit of time. I'm thinking of having Chapter Zero's playtime be between ten and thirty minutes, so not a lot of map is required for that.
Make new sprites! I'm going to need a lot. Backgrounds, animations, textbox character portraits, the works. I'm good at drawing and sprite work is easy, so it's not going to be that hard.
Rework some menus and other things. Since I decided to have Chapter Zero after the game had been in development for a little while, the game's menus and stuff are all set up for SANS. for example, the textbox system has bones as the outline for the textbox.
Which, in its current state, looks a little strange. Those things are supposed to stay inside of Alice.
Also, if you haven't, I recommend looking into UNRELATED'S Q & A. It's ongoing and a whole lot of fun.
Remember, Chapter Zero is releasing this year, hopefully by September 30th! SAVE the date!
That's all for now! Stay DETERMINED and never lose HOPE!
