Hello again, everyone! ^^
Welcome to the second Devlog for TBV (The Brave Volunteer)! I hope you're all having an amazing day! To be honest, I’ve been itching to report on my progress for the game for a day or two now, so let’s get started!
What’s Done Since Last time?
✅ Lights, Cameras, Action!
As you can see in the brief clip of gameplay linked above, the game now has fully functional cameras, sounds, and vent lights! The visual effects shown in this clip are still under development and will most likely be slightly more intense in the final game. I’m also probably going to add some "zooming in" effects here and there to really force you to look down the vents.
✅ Animatronic Movement!
The movement of the animatronics is (although a little underbaked) operational! Once I iron out a few bugs in their movement, I’ll be giving every character their own mechanics and gimmicks (something the original FNAF 6 sorely needed).
✅ Gamejolt page update!
The GameJolt page has been updated with some new images as well as a new, updated title card! I’ll also probably update the description after this post to help spice things up a bit.
This Weeks Goals:
Finish Lights: As cool as they look so far, the visual effects for the vent lights need a quick touch-up, as well as some bug testing.
Implementing Afton: As established in the "What’s Done Since Last Time?" section, the movement for the characters is implemented. However, they all have basic "FNAF 1"-style movement and possess no unique properties or mechanics yet. This week, I want to add Afton to the game! Once he’s implemented, I’ll be sure to show off his mechanic in the next Devlog!
Follower Count: My next goal is one taking place OUTSIDE of game development! I am so impressed and thankful for the support of the game so far (40 followers in 4 days is insane! TYSM!). But I think we can take it a step further! If you’re excited about TBV and want this game to be as successful as possible, please share the game with your friends, Discord servers, and fellow FNAF fan game enthusiasts!
PLEASE NOTE: If you do share the game, be respectful of others and DO NOT SPAM this game to people. I want people to follow because they’re interested in the project, not because you forced them to!
Release Date Update:
So far, we’re still on track for a spring release date!
Alright, that’s all for this week! Thank you again to everyone who’s following the project and stay tuned for next week’s update! Much love! ❤️
