DEVLOG No.03: Afton is here!

Sup nerds!

Welcome to the third instalment of Devlogs for TBV (The Brave Volunteer)! As always, I hope your all having an amazing day! I have a lot of fun stuff to share so let's get into it!

What’s Done Since Last time?

✅ Afton Has Been Added To The Roster!
That’s right—Afton is officially programmed into The Brave Volunteer! His mechanics and behaviors are the simplest of the entire cast (for now!), but don’t underestimate him.

How He Works:

  • Audio Lures: Like in vanilla FNAF 6, he’s drawn to audio lures… unless you’re making more noise than the lure itself. If you’re too loud, he’ll ignore the lure and head straight for your office. If he reaches you, it's game over.

  • Lights Are Your Friend: Flash the lights to stun him, buying you just enough time to redirect him with a lure. (As seen in the video clip above).

  • Optimal Pathing: He always takes the fastest route to your office and avoids the bottom-left corner of the map, even if you place a lure there.

  • Quiet Chaos: He’s stealthy, mischievous, and loves to corrupt your office’s internet signal. Keeping your eyes off of him, while simultaneously keeping track of him will be necessary.

Note: His animations, glitch effects, and mechanics are not final and will likely get upgrades before the full release. Stay tuned!

✅ Some More Spice💅 & Follower Goal [74 → 100]

The GameJolt page has received yet another update! It looks a little snazzier now, and the banner should work better on mobile devices.

As far as "in game spice goes", I do have some exciting news! Big shoutout to @Sim_Naum , who’s been cast for a voice role in the project! He’ll be playing a pivotal part, so if you’re not already following him, go check him out!

Before moving on to the next section I want to thank every single one of you for following the GameJolt page! Even though my journey as a fan-game dev has just started, your support means so much to me!

Last week, I asked you to share the game with as many people as possible—and you didn’t disappoint! We’re already at 74 followers! Now, I’m asking again: if you’re loving what you’re seeing and want to support TBVPLEASE share the game in FNAF circles, Discord servers, and mini-communities! My goal is to hit 100 followers by the end of next week!

PLEASE NOTE: If you do share the game, be respectful of others and DO NOT SPAM this game to people. I want people to follow because they’re interested in the project, not because you forced them to!

✅ Even More Visual Effects have been added!
As previously stated, this game is going to be very special-effects-heavy. These effects tell you when you’re in danger, when you need to pay attention, and help make the game both scarier and play nicer. There’s going to be A LOT of them, but so far, they’ve had a very small impact on production time—which has been a lovely surprise!

This Week’s Goals:

  • In-Game BIOS HDMI: The game will have an HDMI system that allows you to access several vital key systems through your PC. The BIOS HDMI tab will be the most important, letting you control vent doors, audio lures, and your fans. I expect this feature to be fully implemented by some point next week.

  • Beginnings of the Pizza Sim HDMI: That’s right the Pizza Sim portion of the game is coming soon! I want to get started on the second half of what makes FNAF 6 so much fun: the "Pizza Sim" section! I’ll keep you updated on how it goes, but I don’t expect this portion to be done for quite a while.

  • 100 Followers: As previously stated, I think 100 followers is achievable within a week or so! We’ve got this, guys!

Anyone looking for a FNAF fan-game dev? (I'm VERY bored)

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.

Hi everyone! I started to create some environment props for my new video game, here is a cozy house in the forest. I'm planning to switch from Unity to Unreal... Let's see what new challenges I have to face. Made in Blender and Substance Painter.

Showing off player 2 😎

What do you think?
