Project Slowdive has been through a lot of ups and downs this year, but the main negative cause was that it has been affected by my mental problems too much, and it’s the main reason why the progress has slowed down so much. But luckily I’m feeling way better, and I managed to regain my motivation back, I have been tinkering with it for a few months now, and today I would like to share some new material for you and talk about the future of this project.
I was polishing old levels, fixing bugs and adding new details to improve the quality of gameplay. Now the game has 5 more hidden secrets. Sometimes I have strange ideas to add mysterious objects, just for the aesthetics, to improve the atmosphere. But it starts to feel strange after a while when they serve no purpose apart decoration. So every little suspicious object you stumble into might lead into a secret from now on : )
After a lot of crafting and testing I finally implemented the very first mini boss battle into the game, it’s a massive cone shaped machine that guards the hall by constantly releasing marbles to chase after you, while navigating through the room you have to collect orbs, dodge and avoid your chasers till you unlock the main gate. Depends on how confusing and difficult it’s going to be to other players, I will always be ready to improve and fix it.
And the final thing, I’m working on the third new dungeon, which will be brighter than the rest and the main theme of it, is warmth. This area will be filled with lots of hints about the feline civilization, their cultural achievements, art, culture and etc. I’m still deciding if I should let it be open from the start or to make it unlockable later in the game.
Also, the game will feature 6 new tracks, I’m happy that I managed to commission really talented musicians! : ) Thank you to everyone who is still interested in this project, I shall try to be more active and deliver new content sooner! Till next time!
