Hey everyone!
With the demo coming together more and more with each new patch, we wanted to go over a few things.
Starting off, we want to thank all of you for playing our game! It's so early on, but all this interest has certainly given us motivation and one hell of a sense of satisfaction.
Next up, we wanted to say the next major release (the Full Section version of Section 1, which will include Hard Mode) will be significantly different from what you see in the Section 1 Demo. The main difference will be sprites and cutscenes, but there'll be some dialogue changes and more minor stuff as well.
The Full Section won't be out for a LONG time, as we plan on waiting for DELTATRAVELER's v3.1.0 update to release likely later this year first. We'll basically be starting from scratch, but we'll be using the all-new engine and such to make the game better than ever before. So, expect the Full Section to come out a while AFTER that releases, especially since school is starting up soon for a lot of us (or already has).
Being new to game development ourselves, we figure that the Full Section will be a lot smoother when we release it, as we'll have playtested it for longer than a day (hopefully). We'll also have more coding experience at that point, meaning we'll be able to locate and fix bugs faster, and also just hopefully develop the game faster- though, no promises!
We wanted to say that development of the game itself will not FULLY stop while we wait for DELTATRAVELER v3.1.0- we'll still be making sprites and concepts for future sections- but there won't be really much CODING that gets done unless it's for a new patch of the Demo.
Overall, once DELTATRAVELER v3.1.0 releases, game development for DISCORDTRAVELER as a whole will be significantly faster until we end up finishing up through Section 3, in which case we'll end up adding our completely original concepts and sections for the game. Our main suggestion for when that time comes is to simply replay the game! We've added a lot of chance-based easter eggs already and even have some FUN Events planned later on.
We hope you're all excited for what we have in the future, because we sure as hell are!
