It's devastating. Everyone went too far with the war, nothing is of worth anymore. Not even the artifact. The people all affected by the harsh effects of war, from having to survive by any means after lacking resources, to the most painful of deaths. And yet, Saint Peacekeeper, carrying a heavy burden of believing he started the most devastating tragedy in his view, still can't find the solution for everything.
Even when a majority of those in war got sacrificed in the name of the artifact, even everything seems hopeless after all the destruction because of violence, Saint Peacekeeper remains vigilant, knowing what lies on the other side is freedom from all of these, for the people. His drops of regrets filled his heart even more than ever, to the point he once revisited the hall where the statue of his former identity stands tall, wishing he knew what must be done before all the damage becomes irreversible. Forced to confront his mistakes, he decided that he shall attach the artifact into the soul of the tree, and shall He be aware enough on who is worth of the power bestowal. However, once he tried to do so, it ended up a failure. But that doesn't stop the tree from giving the saint what he truly need.
An advice.
“Shall you accept the past is the past, and shall you remember that you must focus yourself on the future instead of overthinking about what you've done.”
“And yet, O' Almighty, what can I do? Even the Juries no longer of assistance, so what am I even? Is anyone ever forgive this? This war, that I cause? Over a simple yet powerful thing?”
“Mediator...”
“Don't call me that. That title was long gone.”
“Saint Peacekeeper. Understanding and forgiving is a different thing. They might not forget but they'll forgive, but there are some times where they won't forgive, but will understand. You shall tell them, it was all because of the artifact which causes the whole catastrophe. Stand up, face your past self. Face the Mediator, and you shall find what I've provide, which you don't know you will need over all these times.”
The saint stands still, as if he's looking of what he was. Even time seemed to stand still, as if no one but himself remains there, now that even the nearest Kingdom nearby the barren is almost decimated by the catastrophe. He understands now. He shouldn't run far away from himself just because of a mistake he never meant to do. And yet... If he returns with blood coating him instead of honour, would people still trust him? Nevertheless, that should not be look upon, as his journey now is clear. Stop the war, and bring back the prosperity for everyone, elites, warriors and even the downtrodden alike. Bring unity, as he shall.
He humbly swear to the tree next to him, to fulfill his duty as he embrace both of his identities, either achievements or mistakes. And for the power the tree shall bear fruit of, the one who shall be bestowed it shall be of honour, with a noble heart filled with hope. And he shall fight, and fight against those who wants to bring more tragedies on the sacred Earth, for the sake for the next generations who would be forced to live in such endless wars and destruction. The artifact he holds on for a long time now has glow brighter, overwhelming the entire barren, not even Saint Peacekeeper can see.
It seems that the Mediator has returned, now "merged" with the Saint.
The spark of hope becomes a shining light as Saint Peacekeeper awakens with the artifact transfering itself to his soul. The glistening golden armour of knowledge and the heavenly white garment of peace shows balance, knowing now he has find the answer. And now, only he know what must be done, before they bring total destruction.
I decided to keep the "false watercolour" look for the distant past drawings while making it a little different than the previous two lore artworks.
Note that Saint Peacekeeper is still alive even after the distant past era since this scene technically grants him immortality (now that he's more of a half-saint, true to his name). He now works as one of the highest ranking members in World Peace Committee.
Not sure what else to put here, have this gif instead i guess
