Unity has announced its new Runtime Fee.
For those who do not know what the new Runtime Fee is about, in simple terms, the developer will pay every time their game gets installed. It can be from a reinstallation or installation on another device. The developer will pay per installation.
Because I am only an independent game developer with no source of income, I will not be able to afford the Runtime Fee that I may have to pay in the future.
This means that this is the complete end of Codename Determination, and all development will cease.
If Unity does not repeal its decision for the new Runtime Fee, CND servers will shut down on January 1st, 2024.
If Unity repeals its decision, CND servers will stay online, and development will resume.
Until then, consider development ceased entirely until Unity's final decision.
Thank you, everyone, for your support over the years.
