It's officially spring, which means that it's time again for another seasonal FAUXTALE devlog! Lots of progress has been made since the previous update, so let's dive right in!
Miscellaneous Updates
First of all, FAUXTALE has a discord server! Make sure to join if you haven't already: https://discord.gg/kuEADPzSps
I also recently created (or revived) a YouTube channel! Expect FAUXTALE updates and random videos there: https://www.youtube.com/@L8tat8w8
Game Updates
FAUXTALE progress has been going better than ever these past few months, and I'm excited to showcase some of it, both now and later down the line.
First of all, the Afterlife Analyst has finally been implemented into the game! Check out his introduction here:
Additionally, Hard Mode, FAUXTALE's Deltarune-inspired alternate plot, has officially begun development, starting with its battle system!

Everything shown in this image is (very clearly) a work in progress.
And lastly, the Caverns also received some slight progress.

Music Progress
In terms of FAUXTALE's OST, several tracks have been completed over the past few months! Take a listen to a few of them:
An updated version of the Afterlife Analyst's theme.
FAUXTALE: Hard Mode's "Rude Buster" equivalent.
Art Progress
As hinted at earlier this month, the Afterlife Apartments tileset is being completely redone! Since this was one of the first art assets ever made for the game, the team and I figured it was time for an update.

Additionally, on the Hard Mode side of things, several characters and enemies have had designs drafted and/or finalized! Take a look:

Coding/Engine Progress
While the bulk of coding work was done on the actual game, some progress on the engine has also been made! For example:

A finished save/load system,

an overhauled dialogue system,

and much more!
FAUXTALE has had no shortage of progress this season, and it's showing no signs of stopping.
Conclusion
This season has been FAUXTALE's most productive yet, and with the game coming up on its first anniversary, I'm very proud of the progress I've made.
With that said, thank you for reading the devlog, and I'll see you next time!
