Hey there lads, it has been a while. A long while, in fact. Since SAGE 2020 no less. This will be my final message on Sonic Oxilary ever, and I'm pretty sure you will guess what is going on. And yes, you are right if you thought the inevitable was coming down.

It is with heavy heart that I cancel the development on this game. This may come as a shock to many of you who wanted to see this game flourish and eventually see completion, and to be honest with you all, I did too. I really did want to finish this game, however I am cancelling this not because of a bad rep or criticism or the game was corrupted or anything like that, but this is solely to be because of my indie game, Veredilia: The Sacred Forest (which you can check out on my profile page btw, you should). It's because development on that project is becoming much more serious than it previously was since its inception in 2019. I say this because I am about to start putting money into funding the production of the game at some point, which basically leaves this game to be redundant and not worth the pain and effort when I don't make a single cent from it.

I also realised that since I am in my second semester of university, it will just add to the burden when it wasn't really necessary. Not to mention that I have a new job, and the fact that I am also involved in other projects as well which will make it even harder for me to stay on top of this project. Just to clarify, this decision was a hard one to make, and I had to take into account the factors of my life which would make this game more painful to make, and again, this was not at all because I didn't want to continue the game or I was bored or anything like that. I still have it on my mind even to this day. It is a shame and I may regret having to make this decision, but it had to be done given the circumstances.

If you're also wondering, this game has been my 9th and final Sonic fan game I have made in my career, and this will mark the end of an entire era for me as a game developer, as I will no longer be working on anymore fan projects of my own. I will transition solely into original projects, even though I am involved in other fan games and such, I will not be continuing with anymore Sonic fan games and any of that stuff.

For those wondering, the Discord server for this game has been shut down permanently after 4 years of operation, but like with this game, there was no point in me running it anymore. You will still be able to play this game and give feedback on it, but don't expect any more updates as of now. I may return to this if I REALLY have the time for it, but as it stands, not now, and perhaps never.
