Well! After a very long time away from working on this game (summer and beginning Grade 12 are very time-consuming), I finally resumed work on Mega-Gun Arena. This update brings Versus mode to a state of near-completion - this includes balancing several of the weapon abilities, fixing some glitches/exploits, making everything look better and also finally adding a Results screen. Here’s a list of changes!
-The behaviour of the Bounce ability has been dramatically changed. Bullets now bounce along the ground, instead of shooting up at an angle. Much more useful.
-The Napalm ability acts the same as before, but now your bullets turn into fireballs. Cool.
-The Triple Shot ability is still overpowered. Will be nerfed in next update.
-For the Tracking ability, bullets will only home in on the other player if they are within a certain range. Opening doors is now no longer annoying.
-The Reflect ability is activated with every shot instead of every second shot. Is this OP? Who knows? Maybe. Probably.
-Teleport is very different now, and is actually cool: activate it once (hold down Shoot until Ready appears), and you will create a hologram of yourself. Activating it again with teleport you to that hologram. Good for escaping a Black Hole.
-The death animation is now much cooler. Killshots essentially scatter your opponent into a bunch of pixels, and the screen shakes.
-You can go back to previous menus with ESC.
-When a Versus match ends, a results screen will appear instead of a stupid text box. Total points, kills and bullets fired are listed, then options to return to menu or choose another stage.
-The ability to save up skills points is gone. You can no longer gain all the abilities by saving them up until Level 5, 10, 15 or 20.
-Cloudland’s clouds are now animated.
-I just remembered that the Version listed in-game is still 0.2.0. Well, the game is lying. Will be fixed in a later update.
As always, be sure to give me some feedback on what you like, and what you think needs to be improved! Enjoy!
