Five Nights at Freddy's 2: Reconstructed - Frequently Asked Questions

Hello, everyone. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Five Nights at Freddy's, and the special devlog released earlier yesterday, I have compiled a group of questions that could answer some doubts for you all, aswell as help you theorize further on the story and gameplay mechanics of the game.
Please do note, you are more than welcome to ask any other questions in the comments aside from the ones featured in this post.

How many endings are there in FNaF 2:R?

There is only one ending in the game. There is no need for alternative endings, as the game already follows a very streamlined narrative.

When was the story and gameplay fully written down?

The script, storyline and gameplay were all thought out and completed in July 23rd, 2024, and it is now the main script that we will be following.

How similar is FNaF2:R compared to the original?

Even though the location and the roster of animatronics are quite similar, everything else is completely different. The game offers a brand new take on the FNaF2 mechanics, whilst also somewhat making it fairer and more fun for the players than the original, which is infamously known for it's unfair difficulty and overwhelming amounts of mechanics. Not just that, but the story is also completely redefined, following a very depressing yet strangely hopeful story that follows it's own ground, not taking too much basis or inspiration from the original FNaF 2 aside from a major event.

When does the game take place?

The week between January 9th to January 15.

Will there be more animatronics than the ones present in the original FNaF 2?

You will have to wait and see.

How many post-game bonuses are expected?

All i'll say is that both a Custom Night that ties into the main story and an Extras Menu featuring Behind the Scenes content are guaranteed. More ideas will be developed when it comes to the post game content as development progresses.

What is the current percentage of progress for the game?

Probably around a 25% or 30%, but we are making fast progress. Last week, progress could've been at 20%.

Will the game feature language translations?

I'm hispanic, yes, but who the hell knows.

 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Will the game be night based or will it follow a task-based formula?

It will be time based. Each night will be six minutes long, ranging from 12 AM to 6 AM.

Will the animatronics have voices?

Yes.

Will the death minigames still be present?

Yes, but they will be recontextualized and modified to fit with the lore.

Will there be free roam sections?

You tell me!

Aside from FNaF 2, does the game take any inspirations from any other piece of media?

Taxi Driver, Fight Club, Silent Hill 2 and 3, and Mr. Robot.

Do we still play as Jeremy Fitzgerald?

No, we are playing as Fred Miller. However, Jeremy is in the game through some shape or form.

When will the game release?

Definitely mid-2025, though that's a very rough estimate.

Will FNaF 2:R have a fire ending?

No, it wouldn't make sense with the current context of the story.

Will the game have a demo?

We are considering releasing a two night demo.

Will any other characters that didn't appear in FNaF2 make an appearance in FNaF 2:R?

Of course! I thought you all already knew who he was. :)

When will a trailer come out for the game?

Very, very soon.

Which engine is the game being developed on?

Clickteam.

That is it for today. If you have any other questions, please make sure to ask them in the comments section below, I will gladly answer them. Take care, and have a blessed day. :)
