So yesterday, Scott Cawthon posted an update on his mystery project (FNaF 6 if you would like to call it.), and he explained that some things were keeping him back from making the game. His steam post will tell you the rest here: http://steamcommunity.com/games/506610/announcements/detail/1343611811951288957
So from looking at this, it seems like this is the first time an official FNaF game was canceled, but then again, he may be playing his old tricks again, but I doubt it though. He seemed very serious in the post, so it makes me believe that he’s telling the truth.
It’s not the end of FNaF though, as he stated that he would like to do something for the final parts of the lore, including a VR version, which sounds awesome, but overall, he’s saying that he wants to go back to “what made game-making enjoyable.” and I respect his decision, and so should you. He’s been making these games for the past 2 and a half years, so a long, relaxing break would be his best option.
It’s sad to see that we will probably never see what this game would’ve become, or what it was exactly, but some aspects or elements may be implemented in his future projects.
