So, a while ago I mentionned I was working on a small fnaf fangame, and then I just went completely silent without giving it any closure.
Since I don't have anything I can share right now for my current project (check my previous post for more info), I figured I could instead show this scrapped proof of concept.
FNAF Again was pretty much a parody of the first three original FNAF games. While it did start as a literal copy of FNAF 1, every night would add something new to the mix (new cameras, new characters... etc) and some events would randomly trigger to catch the player off guard. With each new addition, the game would become increasingly more chaotic. However, it still revolved around two central mechanics that would be given more and more depth as the game went on (creating synergy between threats and forcing players to change their strategies).
While the idea worked well on paper, executing it properly was way more complicated than I anticipated, hence why I never properly finished it.
Here's some concept art:
The plot was really meta and would tie-in with the many changes happening during the gameplay. But I eventually lost interest as I got more and more side-stuff to take care of.
I've also grown tired of meta stuff as it got pretty much overused in media these last few years. This is why I've settled with a more straight forward story for my current project.
I've learned a lot from it and it did help me shape up T.A.P, so I'm still incredibly happy with how much I got done for it!
I'll maybe release the prototype build that is entirely playable (apart from the fifth night which would've been the climax) if I have some time to tweak a few things to make it more presentable.
Stay safe!
