Fourth Devlog: My code is a mess!

Hey everyone, it’s been a long time.

Lately I’ve become more busy than I’d expected. So I took a little break from the game and this week, finally, I got some time to work on it and, you know, if you’re not an organized person (like me) you can easily guess how chaotic was my code. It was so chaotic that I had to look again into my diagrams and handmade notes to notice that (what a surprise!) the names doesn’t match, there are classes at my code that doesn’t exist on my diagrams and, vice versa, my diagrams have a lot of classes not found on the code.

So, the year is nearly at it’s end and it’s time to have all the things arranged. This week I’m refactoring all the code, making all the comments and creating and HTML document for me to look in case I lose the flow again.

Lucky me this is a simple game and I’m trying to do it well. I hope that, next year next month I’ll have some playable level. My idea is to make a whole playable game, with one or two levels, a beginning and an end with some notes with the things I would like to add, upload the game and get some feedback and, in case there are people interested, I will continue expanding it.

Last but not least, I wish all of you a happy new year and a happy new decade.

PD: This time there’s no crappy gif but there’s a drawing.

Hi everyone! I started to create some environment props for my new video game, here is a cozy house in the forest. I'm planning to switch from Unity to Unreal... Let's see what new challenges I have to face. Made in Blender and Substance Painter.
