Now that it's finally out, I'd like to take a little moment to talk about how development went and just ramble for a bit.
I've pretty much spent the past week full-on working on this single game after being off game development for quite a while. It took a whole lot of stress and tons of duct tape (applied to the game's code) to get it working the way intended. Although it took quite a while and tons of stress, sweat, and desperation, I can say I feel very satisfied with how it turned out.
I tried to make something a little more unique and a little more ambitious with this, and I feel very proud of the final results. It is definitely flawed in some key areas, and it is certainly not perfect. But I hope what I've been able to create with this game is something special to people.
I've definitely pushed myself to make something a little different here and have tried my best to make it accessible for everyone. I've done my best with this one, and I feel very comfortable with the final results.
Some updates could come later down the line, but as of right now, I doubt it.
I hope the game is good enough and enjoyable. The whole intent of this was to make something very atmospheric and a little different from what I usually do, making the most of the fact that this game is partial-free-roam.
I am very glad I was able to fully finish it, even if it took some time and a lot of dedication and stress with a few sleepless nights in the works.
Looking back just a few years ago and the way I used to make games, in contrast to what I've been able to achieve with this, is really motivating. And I have plans to move on to much grander stuff soon enough.
This definitely isn't the biggest game ever, nor is it the best, and I do not consider it as such. But I feel it is a significant accomplishment for me, and I am very proud of it.
That's really all. Thank you to everyone, and enjoy the game!
