Gandi IDE (or Cocrea) has recently received a cease-and-desist notice from the official Incredibox developers, so most of the Incredibox/Sprunki projects will be taken down.

I was actually expecting this to come one day, and it finally arrived.

Article time.

Cocrea wasn't really that popular. It was a nice platform where a lot of unique projects was built and published on. This has changed when Incredibox fan games showed up to that platform and it EXPLODED. There were hundreds if not thousands of Incredibox fan games as well as Sprunki.

I remember people on Discord complaining its simplicity and its boring "gameplay". They're kind of right because apparently, the main gimmick of Incredibox is that you can make "music", except you're really not; you're just listening to different variants of the pre-made melodies and beatboxes.

Anyways, with the platform FLOODING with Incredibox and Sprunki projects, there is no doubt that the original developers of Incredibox will see this, and they did.

One of the Gandi IDE developers posted this announcement on their Discord server:

And someone also shared this piece of screenshot where someone was talking through email with the Incredibox team:

From their point of view, this does makes sense. Cocrea is just flooding with unoriginal projects and boring fan games. It’s one thing to make fan games, but when it’s overwhelming, it becomes much harder to appreciate the original. Plus, Sprunki allegedly outperforms the original Incredibox, the game it was built on, meaning it’s more popular than the original. That is actually crazy.

People who aren't even interested in these games will just probably get really annoyed, and if you look at the search bar, "Incredibox" is the most searched, and the results?

There are over 700 Incredibox projects, and that doesn't even include Sprunki projects.

Fortunately, that was only 2 days ago, because now, they completely eliminated the search results.

So, that's kind of good? But those projects are still accessible through the home page. You won't be able to find any projects that are outside of Incredibox-related projects. Not even one.

Pain.

And I'm still nervous about the fact that my project is still on the home page. It's still there for a while.

image.png

But I don't have to worry about fan games or mods because none of my games are allowed to be remixed, and unremixable projects on Cocrea are encrypted as well. But still...

I know this is very unlikely, but I don't know what would happen if TM-Attraction suddenly gets...popular...

Oh, and also, the developer of Gandi also warns everyone who plans to re-upload such projects.

So yeah.

There were also one Sprunki/Incredibox fan arguing in the Discord server about this, and it's laughable.

I'm censoring everyone's usernames for safety reasons, so instead, I color-coded them.

The orange user is the server moderator, and I completely agree with him; nobody wants another Incredibox fan game, it’s an oversaturated topic now giving the amount of released games, over 700 from what I remembered. It's just a generic music player where all you do is just drag and listen.

You could've put your creative resources to something else entirely, literally anything else. Nobody needs to follow any trendy topic just simply because it's popular. If you are a big fan of it, just appreciate them by doing a very small amount of projects or do it elsewhere rather than an environment where most or half of the people are annoyed by this. And making Incredibox mod projects doesn't necessarily appreciate the original. With over 700 or 1,000 projects of those, if you think about it deeply, it does feels like spam or abuse of the IP, and there will always be a possibility that people will play more of these fan games a lot more than the original.

Appreciate it with one or a couple of fan games and move on to something else entirely. Simple.

I also know half of the community of Gandi is kids, several people said that already, but I just wanted to give my piece of reasoning.

So yeah, just wanted to talk about this. That's about it.

The final boss...

Got direct inspiration from Akaza, too, for this specific pose.

Spent a whole 5 minutes on this (using a Surface Pen).

I'm having more confidence over time.

Surfing around the Microsoft Store to check on updates and just found this random Scratch app that came out half a year ago.

Not only do they included AI, but they also just casually included a subscription service just for you to use the core functions.

Microsoft is now technically trying to convince people on why AI on almost everything is a good thing with their new "Second Thought" series.

This just proves my point that they have an entirely different vision on this tech than the rest of us.

The Scratch Team has just recently updated their Terms of Service yesterday, letting you know they now have full permission to use your content to train AI models.

I used Edge for pretty much half of my life, and it's a pretty good browser for me, but I do have to say...

I still don't see it as an "AI browser". 😂

All of the core functions are fundamentally the same. The only true AI thing is the Copilot sidebar.

I'll give people the option to enable or disable flashing lights as there is some enough in the game. Most people probably won't touch it, but you still have this option.
