Welcome back to another sumarry. This week's news are a lot so strap yourselves in
The endings are 100% finished. We found the Fake ending files in an old playtest, so we managed to bring it back and recreate the True ending.
The AI has gotten better. A completely new mechanic that lets the player pick up certain objects scattered throughout the map and throw them at enemies has been added.
When you hit an animatronic it gets stunned for a second or two which allows you to escape their line of sight, making it slightly easier to escape.
The enemies won't just let you throw objects at them like that. When you hit an animatronic it may become 'enraged', becoming more dangerous, and after hitting an enemy once there's a certain period of time in which you can't attack them again, so it's best to approach this strategically.
The video has been made on an older computer for testing and texture resolution is set to low
The AI can also hear the player walking, so sneaking is encouraged.. Don't worry too much though, the objects you can throw at the enemies can also be used as sound distractions. You can throw something to lure an enemy away from your position.
The animatronics now have a 'hunt' state. When you manage to get away from them they'll keep searching for you in the last places they've seen you at.
The checkpoints are 60% finished and 3 locations now have a proper save function. The checkpoints appear in the main menu as level selection
4. New atmosphere in Location 3.
Location 3 will get its own new atmosphere. It's not finished just yet, but it'll come in time.
5. The animations from April's playtest have been reimplemented.
Old animations have been replaced with new ones. That's all for now.
We can officially say in 3 weeks we managed to catch up with 4 months of work. The project is now where it was at back in December 2022. Bringing back content and adding new things has been going great.
