Glitch Quest:Cybernetic Outbreak Announcement!


That is right! The new game will be a retro styled top-down RPG called Glitch Quest:Cybernetic Outbreak! I have been secretly working on this game over the past few weeks, well, at least the sprites,music, and some concept art for the worlds that you will explore in this game. I will provide pictures of the sprites, and upload each song for each area as it is completed. My New Years resolution is to take my time with this project and keep you all posted on how much is completed. I can not wait to get the devlog up tomorrow so that all of you can see what I have accomplished such a short amount of time. The main character of this game is going to be the mascot of Glitchbox Games so I am taking as much time as I need to make him perfect! I am still a little bit upset over what happened to Fade: Journey of a Shadow but I am slowly learning that I was never going to get anywhere with the game because I knew so little about 3D games and needed to just take a step back. With an RPG I feel like I can really get creative and hopefully I can keep the motivation to make this game to completion. This game will be completed for sure and updated as often as possible. That being said, most updates will be smaller and I may have to schedule posts ahead of time because I probably won't have the time to update the game every day for sure. I will at least provide one update per week and one big update every month. I will provide more info on Twitch at some point in the future on a new Nintendo Direct type thing of my own which I will give you all the option of naming! A poll will go up at the same time as the devlog tomorrow to decide what the new Twitch show should be called! I will provide a few options of my own but will also allow you all to provide your own name suggestions in the comments! I will be using a website called BeepBox to make the music for the game and using a mixture of Gimp and paint .net to make the sprites. I may try to remake Fade: Journey of a Shadow in the future but as of right now I have no interest in doing so. Sorry for the long update, see you all when the devlog goes up on January 1st!

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.
