So, we got a comment (concerning the script) from someone on steam, and I will be going over it! (MANY MANY MANY SPOILERS!!)
“The beginning dialogue doesn’t really sound like Chara. Chara doesn’t randomly explode into angry caps or call you an idiot. Chara isn’t interested in judging you or even in the events of the world itself. Chara is competent and thus doesn’t say things like “well maybe not Undyne…BUT STILL!”. Chara doesn’t get unnecessarily expositional. The rest of the story arc falls apart because again it relies on Chara as the antagonist even though Chara has no real reason to care about the world or to stand in your way. Chara doesn’t need minions to fight for them either, hell where would Chara even find loyal minions? As much as I absolutely hate having to say it, Sans or Gaster would make for more fitting antagonists.”
Well, it doesn’t really rely on Chara as an antagonist, more as a person who, doesn’t want you to have a happy ending. and where do you get her having minions from?
“A fading reality with swapped or slightly different inhabitants is a pretty cool setting. But you never really explain why the world is suddenly this way. Or why this new reality has assigned guardians to it…whose goal it is to stop you from saving it. Um, wat?”
This is explained in the genocide, which isn’t written yet.
“Another human shows up for no reason, makes an edgy threat, then runs off. It’s like I’m playing Sonic ‘06.”
Well, she is going somewhere. She realizes you were the human she is looking out for, and yes, she is edgy. She continues going where she was going.
“The human flings me off a bridge for undisclosed reasons, then Chara wakes me up? I thought Chara was supposed to be the antagonist.”
She wants to kill you. case closed. As I stated earlier, not antagonist.
“Another guardian. K. ‘I’m not going to fight you…yet.’ No really stop with the Shadow the Hedgehog .”
This is just a sum up of what he is going to say.
“If Crow is a guardian, and these guardians are required to stop your progress, then why does Crow call you to warn you about hostile robots?”
No. Their job is to stop you when they encounter you, they can help afterwards if they like, when their job is over. And friends don’t not tell others when evil robots come.
“It bears repeating. ANDROID 666. NO. STOP. NO. BAD.”
Yeah, this’ll be changed a bit in the game. and yes, 666, cringey.
“‘I am the fourth Faded Guardian. It hardly seems necessary, but, I gotta fight you, mate.’ This is some Shakespeare level dialogue.”
Again, a sum up.
“Sudden Gaster appearance, with Gaster now suddenly caring about timeline manipulation. I’m completely lost at this point not gonna lie.”
Remember the phone call back in Snowdin? That was Gaster.
And there we go! Most things that needed to be cleared up, are.
