Halloween Jam 2016

The team has been jamming every Saturday throughout October to bring you this Halloween treat. We really loved this game when we first made it, and we wanted to take it further, so to blow off some steam we got together and checked off a few of the items on our TODO list:

The game now uses a 1D WFC algorithm to choose new blocks that are fair but still just as difficult. This way you never lose because you got an unlucky ten zombies in a row. Thanks to this repo for teaching us how to do it! https://github.com/mxgmn/WaveFunctionCollapse

The levels now ease the mechanics in over time, so players have a chance to learn and explore different flavors of the game while the mechanics build up.

We added a future block display and a swap block, which both allow the player to use much deeper strategy and therefore able to handle even more difficult challenges.

In addition to those TODO items, we made our own soundtrack, started building up a backstory which you will see when you play, and we added a new block called the BOX.

Thanks to everyone who has played and followed, we hope you enjoy competing for the high score on this new version!

Hello everyone!

I have recently taken a step back into game dev this past summer and I have decided to resurrect a old game from the early days of Game Maker and the YYG community (some of you might have been apart of); A Shapian's Tale.

Took a break from AST to work on a rougelike match 3 game, pet named "SwapQuest."

I believe I have gotten the Axial Layer completed! On top of this the debug viewer has also been optimized visually to show more accurate info. Its so strange how different the underlying code is from the final render #gamedev #rpg #combat #sidecroller

Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.

Here's a peaceful little forest scene for this #screenshotsaturday, from the beginning of the game.

We made a lot of improvements on the Freezing Plains visual. Things like pine trees, tiny bushes, some rocks, and others game props!

A house I've built a while ago. :)

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.

It's built with painted Ebonstone.
