Happy 10 years!

Many will quickly tell you that "Five Nights at Treasure Island wasn't actually the first FNaF fangame!"

In my humble opinion: they're wrong.

After finding Five Nights at Freddy's in late 2014, I quickly caught onto FNaTI's existence while trying to make my own "FNaF 3" on ROBLOX of all things. Little did I know that it would bring me down a rabbit hole I never expected to still be a part of today...

People will try to tell you that some random asset flip shooter game that (vaguely) had FNaF characters in it was the real thing. Or some scratch game. Or some game nobody cared about until AFTER FNaTI was released. Do you really think that counts? Sure, by technicality you could say I am wrong... but let's be real.

Without FNaTI, I am quite sure a lot of the games you all rave and talk about today would not exist, and if they did they wouldn't have been taken seriously whatsoever. What people don't realize is how important that buggy old demo released in 2014 was. That demo showed people that we can do our own thing with the formula Scott Cawthon gave us. You all owe everything to this game, regardless if you like it or not.

I sit here typing this somewhat awestruck because it has been 10 years and people still care. It has been 10 years and I went from a squeaky kid obsessing over The Face to writing a story for that character and the rest of the beings on the island. It has been 10 years and the fangame scene went from absolutely nothing to the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative, merchandise, and more. The last thing is debatably good/bad, but that's not what we're here for. FNaTI's story may be coming to a close, but nothing will ever top the significance it has in this community. This is the first real fangame.

I would like to thank Matt/Anart1996/APPSvN. While he may not get much recognition nowadays, his creative mind brought us FNaTI and he deserves to be mentioned here. I would also like to thank Slimebeast, whose stories created a sandbox for all of the FNaTI developers to do whatever they wanted. We owe everything to these two people.

I look forward to bringing you the final version of FNaTI sometime in 2025 (hopefully) and I can assure you all it will be worth the hype and patience you all have given us. Part of the reason it has taken so long is because we are trying to make sure it does justice to the concept. If you think what we just released was great, you aren't ready for what's in store next.

Thank you all. Goodnight.
