Today is August 8th 2024, marking a whopping 10 years since the original FNAF first released in 2014.
Five Nights at Freddy's has completely changed my life and has allowed me to meet an array of amazing, wonderful and talented people that I would have never had the pleasure of meeting otherwise.
FNAF began what is now my obsession and love for the horror genre and has been able to enthral me ever since I was 7 years old. Now, at the ripe age of 17, I can safely say that my love for this franchise is still very much prevelant.
If it wasn't for FNAF, I probably wouldn't have become interested in game creation and I certainly wouldn't be writing here now. I honestly think I would be in a worse position if FNAF hadn't been a thing. To never have the same spark and interest in creating games as well as never becoming apart of such a brilliant community is a wild thought and I thank this series for giving me those experiences and interests.
Seeing this franchise go from a niche game, to a cornerstone of indie horror, to a mainstream franchise with books and films is genuinely incredible. It's a level of success I could only wish of getting a fraction of with my own work and Scott Cawthon's story inspires me to this very day.
Thank you so much funny bear game, for all you have given me!
