The Ultimate Shitpost: Getting Tired of This?

Hello? Are you alive SampleText?

Yes! Indeed I am! And with this article, I'm going to describe what I've been doing lately.

One/two weeks after the release of The Ultimate Shitpost: Getting tired of this, I was making a concept for a Serious FNaF Fan-game that I had in mind in Unreal Engine 4. I think it's safe to say that it won't happen since I have done a change of plans. And that is: I have moved from Unreal Engine 4 to Unity. Now, I know that it sounds weird since I have only been using UE4 for nearly one month and a half approximately, but I decided to switch to Unity because I just find it a way better engine than UE4! And too, I'm learning way faster than I used to do! I have already learnt everything that I learnt on UE4 in Unity! And I'm already writing lines of code by myself, which is great! A lot of progress is being made in such little time.

Overall, everything is going extremely good with Unity and I'm planning on trying to make, FINALLY, a serious FNaF Fan-game with Unity, Since I have already covered of all the "FNaF Basics" such as cameras, doors system, etc. + Unity will allow me to make better-looking games, with better lightning, textures that actually work, etc.

I have done a "Test Room" in Unity which contains all of FNaF's basic features:

If you are wondering what are you looking at, I'm going to make a list describing everything that it's included in the picture:

In the left screen you can see:

  • The Red Cylinder is the first-person character

  • The 3 coloured cubes (red, white and "black") is a door system. Red is a key, black is a key checker, which checks if the player has the key or not, and the white cube is the door. The system is pretty wonky but it works, yet it still can be upgraded and I WILL upgrade it.

  • The "screen" right below the 3 cubes is a "camera monitor", yet this is not the camera system because I made an actual camera system around the player's UI.

  • That floating black arch is the Player's UI.

  • You can barely see it, but there's an imported model from the FNaF Concept that I had originally planned.

In the right screen, you can see a lot of UI stuff.

  • Top Right corner is a minimap.

  • Bottom right is just an animated UI test that I made.

  • Bottom left is an ammo counter that I made for some reason?

  • And in the middle, you can see the crosshair.

There's much more stuff that is not shown in the image, I even made a really simple AI system, there is a FNaF 1 door system, and as I mentioned before, there is indeed an actual camera system! But the image does not show it.

And well! This is basically what I have been doing lately, I've enjoyed the process of making all of these things and basically every day I'm learning something new on this amazing engine!

See you in the next post guys!

So I tried recreating Freddy and I got this. I personally think it turned out quite good, not going to lie, also side note: this is my first ever completed character model.

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)

Drawn in Piskel using my mouse. Whaddya think?

I mostly build 3D First Person Shooter game mechanics in Unity, and in this I'm just showing C4 mechanics I made for a little side project I am working on! :)
