Game
Dusttale Dusk

Hello everyone, it’s time to give answers to your questions, and this will be done, right now, in this very post !

So, I’ll start by the order I received the questions (Those are the answers of the team) :

1. NoobBacon: "Is the story gonna be the exact same as the normal Dusttale, or will it be a new whole version of Dusttale?"

· Ho, this one was an anticipated one, and I’m glad that it was asked. So, Dusttale Dusk will be a new version of Dusttale, that has the endeavors of improving the story, the character work of Sans, its personality and the repercussions he has on the world, and how he remembers any of the genocides.

2.Fantasy-Check: "Where did you guys get the idea to create this AT for this AU, and how does it differentiate from the OG?"

· To clarify it’s not a different AU or AT, it’s a new take on the Dusttale AU. As for why, it started by our programmer, Darry, wanting to make at first a sort of update for Evan’s Dusttale and defying himself to make a full game on ClickTeam Fusion.

3. ep1ceggman: "How would the atmosphere of this take go? Would it be very gloomy?"

· Well, it will be as gloomy as it needs to be, and it will indeed be quite a dark atmosphere, worsening as you make progress. We could say that the game was thought of as some kind of horror game.

4. Cheesecheesey: "How many endings will there be? Will they differentiate from evan dusttale or will they be their own thing? Any unique gameplay stuff planned ? How many sans encounters ?"

· We have planned only one ending in the game, since writing wise other ending wouldn’t make sense at all and it would take from the overall experience. I think it’s better to center on only one coherent story with only one ending that delivers on its promises and brings a satisfying conclusion to the narrative.

· DTD will have its own ending and will differentiate from Evan’s Dusttale since it’s a somewhat new take on the Dust genre. Though its credit is due since our take will have some inspiration from the OG Dusttale.

· For a more rewarding experience we’ve decided to add some unique gimmicks and new content to the game that will be shown at the full release. I’ve ensured those mechanics fit in well with the rest of the game and those have the purpose to elevate the gameplay and narrative.

· How many Sans encounters? A wonderful question, and the only answer I’m willing to give is that there will be a reasonable amount. Understand it the way you want, but this information will be given when you discover the game, so no spoilers.

5. thecheesethatdoesnothing: "On a scale of 1-10, how hard are you planning the game to be? Will there be moments where we see other characters’ perspectives? Will there be any new characters, and will they play a major or minor role? Will Asgore get some love? If Chara still possesses Frisk, will they be better developed? Maybe give the two a better relationship than the OG. I don't care about canon that much, but will sans use his bone to replicate other people's magic instead of just stealing them?"

· Well, the beginning will be quite easy and the game overall, except at some moments, it being a genocide run and all, so around 4/10 to 6/10. Though in the end the difficulty will spice up a bit more to give a challenging and rewarding conclusion, we’ll keep it fair as unfairness is not that amusing. This part will be around 7-8/10.

· The game will mostly focus on the player’s perspective and way of seeing the world he’s evolving in. The other characters’ insights are told through other means of storytelling.

· There will indeed be some new characters and the exploration of some underused characters, though some are more relevant and have more impact on the story than others.

· Asgore won’t get love, no, he’s been in jail since he ran over Dess on a departmental road…

· Chara won’t play a role at all in the story, in the days of OG Dusttale, chara was seen through the fanon lens. In Undertale, they seem quite disturbed by the repetition of genocide runs, deeming it stupid, so after hundreds, they would just stop interacting with the player, not caring anymore before leaving.

· No, attack replication doesn’t make much sense, though his abilities will be better and complex versions of what he already can do, plus some other specific things, it’s not related to just him. Also, he can use orange bones since those can be learned through enough mastery and understanding of magic.

6. catty cat: "I know it's hard to make, but if you could, would you add cutscenes for the game? If yes, in which style will you choose?"

· Some cut scenes will be added into the game, though they won’t follow the specifics of the regular panel cut scenes of Undertale.

So, that seems to be everything, I hope that was enough to answer all your questions and that you are pleased with this. Game development is continuing at a great pace, and more information will be available to you when we hit another milestone, as for now, take care of yourselves and may you all have an amazing rest of your day.

DTD team out.
