So, it's been a while. Thought we should update you on some of the progress we've made over the last...
Six months!?
Yea oops it's been a while. I picked development back up recently, starting up on what I've codenamed "Broken Home 2" (it's still just Broken Home, but I've restarted development). The plan for this is to build from the ground up with multiplayer in mind, with a much more long-term plan that what we originally had.
Currently, we have a functional client-server system including player movement, building and shooting (thanks to Tom Weiland for his networking tutorial series which helped out a ton) and this iteration of the project has only been in development for a couple of weeks. All we need for a fully-functional prototype (that all you guys can play, for free) is zombies and money. Overall, I'm pretty optimistic about the future of this project
We've also redesigned a lot of the old models from the original Broken Home which scream "I WAS MADE IN A 2 DAY JAM" because, well, they were. We've also moved over to Unity's High Definition Render Pipeline to allow us more control over the game's graphical quality, as well as just letting it look good. So, here's the new player model, as well as the redesign of all the weapons library, all screenshots taken directly in-engine.
