Hello there! Long time no see. 2 months ago we released some patches to the launcher and then we only talked on Discord, so we'd like to make our plans clear to other platforms.

TLDR: Hellow World development has moved to the Godot Engine!


If you didn't know, the version of Hellow World that is currently on this page is built on a modification of Scratch known as Turbowarp. Turbowarp is a highly capable mod that adds unsandboxed extensions plus loads more that let us do things that might have been possible, but were extremely laggy, inefficient, or just plain impossible to use on Scratch.

That is how we made Hellow World, but as time went on we started to realize things were getting difficult and more people were complaining about bugs and performance issues, so we decided to put Hellow World on pause and decided to do what one of us thought would be impossible; Move to another Game Engine, said engine being Godot.

That's right, we moved Hellow Worlds development to Godot, while one of us is learning and working on porting everything we have currently to the Godot engine, the other is working on finishing other projects and loose ends, but once that's over should start working on learning the basics of the engine and then start working on Hellow World 1.0 as well.

TLDR: Hellow World development has moved to the Godot Engine!


Anyways, I hope this clears things up to those who were wondering when an update would arrive, that may be a while. But for now we hope you enjoy the game and we can't wait to see what comes next in the development of Hellow World .

Madeline is the main protagonist of the mountain climbing platformer, Celeste. The game has been praised for its visuals, gameplay, and introspective narrative. The game's creator Maddy Thorson confirmed that Madeline is trans in 2020.
