Now, I wanted to do monthly updates (near the start of every month), but I just wanted to post the first one on the first day I put this page up, at least just to see how the result looks. I'm not sure if I'm going to actually do it monthly or start spamming it because I have no restraint, but hopefully it will be the former. Which means, near the beginning of March, we should expect another update!
Here's what I've been up to lately:
To be honest, at first I found myself jumping between all sorts of things I wanted to do: making assets that will be useful for way later in the story, but don't really serve any purpose right now. Therefore, I've decided for now that I wanna laser-focus in on getting the beginning cutscenes done. And I've made some progress!

Wakey wakey.
This also marks the beginning of actually writing out the dialogue I'm going to use in-game. It's been much harder than I thought. I've found myself editing and tweaking the dialogue pretty frequently. I think that's a good thing...? As long as I don't get too fixated on making it perfect!
I'm not sure how I want the narration to sound. Honestly, I really disliked what I've written so far...I think some of it gives Togore something of an arrogant vibe to him. I'm not going for that, but rather that he just has trouble with expressing himself sometimes--he still cares about things and other people.

this line sucks lol xd
Though I said I want to focus on getting the beginning cutscene (and that's still true), I went ahead and made more battle sprites anyways. I never realized just how many individual sprites there are for each of the playable characters in Deltarune! But it's very satisfying to see my little sprites in-game and fully animated, even if it's a little jank. At least they can serve as placeholders before I properly clean them up.

He looks kinda dramatic, doesn't he...??
...I'm not sure what else to write about, so I'll be ending it here! I'm sorry for the messy post! I'm not used to writing so long like this, so it'll take me a bit to get the hang of this whole thing. Hope to see you guys again in March! Thanks for reading!
