We're not very far from the full release of FF:R2 and a release date will be announced by the end of the month! Here are the major changes for the full release:
Let's start with the most important thing: When this game is released, it will not longer be an .sb3 file. I am now using TURBOWARP to program this game which comes with a complier that can make the game a .exe. No more laggy games, no more loading into Scratch! Turbowarp Desktop is seriously good so if you also use Scratch then I would really give it a shot as it fixes 90% of Scratch's limitations and issues! (It will also be released on the Turbowarp website but I've heard that there are loading issues on there so don't rely on it).
I've wanted to give this game more of a story. This is because at the moment, it just feels like you're battling enemies just for the sake of it with no real goal in mind. I haven't quite decided how I'm going to present this yet but it'll probably be through story cutscenes at the beginning of each world.
You may have noticed that on the 4th tab of the Character Info menu in the demo, there were unique achievements for each character that would give you small Faz-Coin bonuses. Well that's being scrapped... BUT something else is taking it's place: PERKS! As you beat levels as a character, you have a chance of unlocking a perk that you can equip. These perks give your character minor buffs to help you along your way!
Obviously this game is releasing with only the first 3 worlds but don't worry, future worlds with enemies and bosses will be added as DLC so look forward to that!
There have been a few major changes to some character's abilities. Mangles ability and passive ability has basically been overhauled. Toy Chica's ability is also completely changed. This was because they were just too weak and underwhelming. There are also some really minor changes I won't bother listing here. If any future balance changes are made to characters after release then I will post patch notes to explain the changes and the reasoning behind it!
Enemies have been COMPLETELY OVERHAULED. The coding for enemies was seriously messy so I decided to just redo them from the ground up. Gameplay wise this hardly changes them as they act more or less act the same, this just helps me with adding future enemies!
Most of the amazing voice actors of characters have returned to voice a few more lines. This includes a couple custom special lines for rare skins as well as a Game Over line.
Speaking of Game Over, the Game Over screen will now show you a random tip for the character you are playing!
Some of the future DLC characters have already been planned and I will start work on the first one as soon as the game is released. Expect teasers for them!
A final, short beta test will be starting soon.
And lastly, expect a trailer to release by the end of the month!
Thank you to the people who have been sticking through these dev-logs and updates, I don't know how you put up with my rambling XD
Love you all!
