Game Progress
So, the game just had another beta test happen about a week ago. Lots of fixes and attempts to fair balancing have been made, and I think everything is coming along together very nicely.
Lots of progress was made since this test. In fact, I am currently on the final night of the main mode! Lots of work is going into it due to cutscenes and stuff, but so far I am liking how it's coming along. After this final night is done, everything else should hopefully be easier.
I do not think I will give a completion percentage or anything as I want to avoid false promises (as I usually have a habit of doing that). Just know that things are d̶e̸s̵c̶e̵n̶d̵i̵n̴g̵ ̸i̶n̶t̵o̵ ̵c̴h̴a̷o̶s̸ going well :)
Who Are You Playing As?
You're probably wondering, as I've seen plenty of people question, who exactly are you playing as in this game? So I think It's time I answer this question for you!
From the looks of it, it seems like just some sort of basic, or "base" character simply meant to represent you as the player. And in a way, yes, you would be right about that. That's not all there is to them though, you'll find out what I mean by that later on. Infact, their name was originally just "Player". But, I've decided there should be more to them, so now they have a name, an intentional misspelling of the Licorice candy.
So, other than them having a name now, there is nothing else to their identity. They are not male, female, nor agender. And even though they appear to be a cat, the type of animal they are is undisclosed, they're just kind of a grey creature resembling an animal. You're the player after all, so their true identity is up to your interpretation!
(i guess they count as a chikn nuggit oc? i don't really know lol)
Upgrades Continue
I'm still upgrading some of the game's older visuals here and there. Reminder this game was started last year in July (the 1st year anniversary of this game is almost here, huh), and back then I wasn't that used to this art style.
The game's logo has been fixed up. The red lines in "Nuggit's" have been made thicker, due to it looking weird before when resizing it. Additionally, the game's first teaser has been updated to fit the upgraded Furnace Room visuals. Been working on improving some other graphics too, such as the Camewa system.
I'm also still working on improving my music, you may have noticed the remastered Shop Theme on the game page. I think it sounds much better!
End of Devwog
Welp, that's it for this quick update! I'm very passionate about all of this, and you all are giving me so much motivation for this project, thank you so much!
Until next ti-
