So, if you have red the descriptions on some older dev logs you may have noticed me going back and forth on the descision of having 'Merry Land' be classed as a fan game due to some lore reasons and what not. After long consideration, and I mean long, I made pros and cons lists and all, I have came to a decision that I want for this 'francise'.
'Merry Land' will NOT be associated with FNAF or be classed as a fangame.
I chose this because of many reasons, one of them being; the mascots in the game weren't inspired by fnaf. I actually came up with the general story and lore of ML way back when I started high school before I even knew what fnaf was, and over time the story has never been influenced by fnaf. There is no alternate universe William Afton, not another version of 'The Bite of '87', nothing like that, so that was one reason why I didn't see the point in having it be a fnaf fan game when it's not related to fnaf.
Another reason is that the story of ML isn't like fnaf. ML is a theme park run by sentient mascots, I may have said that they were 'animatronics', but to be honest, I just couldn't think of a term to name what they are, they don't function like animatronics do in fnaf (or even irl), possessed or not, they're more like sentient AI 'robots', or whatever you wanna call them.
Now that we got the elephant in the room out of the way, I'm gonna get to another thing!
As youse know, I've put ML:SW on hold due to irl stuff like school/college and other personal things. And to clear things up, I won't be able to work on the game properly for like another month or two, currently I'm putting school/college and other people's projects at top priority. It's not like ML is going anywhere, all my children are in that theme park so I physiccaly can't forget about it, my brain won't let me!
Well, that's all for now! If you have any questions about the game or what I've said here, don't be afraid to drop a comment!
