Haunted Haiden: Relationships

Upper Left, Beef:

Haiden has had serious issues with Lake, canonically and in this Au, for over twenty years due to him being possessed by the demon that started all of this. It’s only gotten worse upon the titular mascot’s possession by a certain someone in 1992. Haiden has good reason to be agitated, though Lake is confused by his hostility.

Upper Right, Comfort:

Dorothy Windfall (OC) was a technician at Lake’s Funland in the 70’s and 80’s, she was the only one apart from Ashley to know of Haiden’s nature as a spirit possessing a machine. Haiden took comfort in her as a surrogate grandmother figure as a result and was able to properly grieve over everything that happened to him. Sadly she passes away in 1980 due to illness, leaving everything to Haiden in her will for when he frees himself from Lake’s Funland.

Middle Left, Birthday:

In a happier time, Haiden befriended Harlan when he was younger, having persuaded Ashley to let Harlan spend his seventh birthday at Lake’s Funland to try make some good memories.

Perhaps it worked a little too well as Ashley isn’t the only one targeted during her week at Lake’s Funland.

Ones things for sure, Haiden did not see this one coming.

Middle Right, Blanket Fort:

Haiden befriended Ashley when she was very young and she’s the only other person to know he’s “alive”. Sometimes, when Ashley visited the Funland during the weekends and holidays, they made blanket forts together in Haiden’s secret room to get away from all the chaos outside. Ashley helps Haiden to socialise again and ease his loneliness and isolation Haiden is very protective of her as a result and treasures their friendship, eventually becoming a sort of older brother figure to her.

Bottom Left, Babysitting:

Now that Haiden is finally free from Lake’s Funland he can move on with his life, as much as a sentient animatronic can move on that is. When Reagan is born Haiden volunteers to babysit her occasionally, as a result he becomes an uncle figure to her as she grows up.

Bottom Right, Kitty:

Haiden has female coded autism so suffers from anxiety and audio/visual overstimulation. Due to a lack of his usual coping mechanisms, due to the time frame of his life as Haiden, his cat Luke helps calm him down when he’s having panic attacks or general nervousness.
