How to reach enough gamers in order to collect feedback !?

During Rocket Powa development we used a limited number of friends to collect some feedback on the game.

Once the development finished, we decided to do a limited beta, we used a group of ~15 friends willing to test the game.

We wanted to collect:

  • feedback about the game (fun or not)

  • bugs report

  • validate our level design, and time objectives

The beta ended, and we received really good news from our beta tester, and after couple of fixes, based on their feedback, we were ready to publish it to everyone.

Here comes the problem, HOW ?

It’s more complicated than expected to reach a good numbers of gamers ! We know that our game is not the next blockbuster, but we would like at least to know if people like it or not.

We published the game in some game portal, the first day, the game is on top of the newly added game list, and we receive some traffic.

But then, after couple of hours/day, the game is lost in a huge list of game, and nobody is able to see it anymore.

Do we necessarily need to advertise a game to reach a lot of player ??

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.

It's built with painted Ebonstone.
