I always thought these kind of commercials where awesome material for horror games. Your game did everything I wanted a game to do using this kind of material.
The gameplay is simple and so is the goal. However this is what makes the game really fun! The game isn't telling you what to do in what way. On top of that, you're not overloaded with other gameplay elements. Just explore the envirnoment. Many games tend to be really linear pushing the player to the scares, but you managed to avoid that! Instead the gameplay is balanced. Every place has something to offer. A note, a hidden building etc.
So pretty much someone doesn't expect Freddie to appear. Well that is until the second call, where he appears chasing you down. The chase is balanced as well. He is fast enough to catch you, but not extremely fast to get you even if you're running. That makes him be really close to you, building anticipation!
Visually, the stylized art style is beautiful! It is what makes this kind of game more creepy. Like in the commercial, Freddie is just a costume or an animatronic. Using something you know isn't real with a stylized environment is the perfect combination. It makes the player get confused on what to expect.
The audio cues are on point too. The screams in the background and the build up effects are good to set the mood.
Overall I totally enjoyed it! It was a blast playing such a game. For a first effort on UE4, it is really solid! Keep up the good work!
