I don't know if the first comment just didn't like the graphics or the or isn't fond of shoot-em-ups, but be sure that if you're into arcade shooters then this game is most certainly worth $4.99. I'm not a big fan of the genre, but these guys let me try out the game and it's made me question my original bias.
The game is fun, and has a solid ideology for mechanics in game design. Mechanics you discover during the early levels of the game get twisted and re-introduced in new ways in later levels. Something as simple as realizing you can bounce shots off of walls suddenly becomes your primary strategy for a level later on, for example. The background art has a direct effect on how the level plays out in most instances, and overall the team wasn't afraid to experiment.
But best of all, they had all levels of gamers in mind for this iteration. There's a beginner level for those of us new to the genre, and it's fun yet still challenging.
If you would like to see a video that talks about this, I have a let's play of it (and if the devs would rather not have video comments please say so, and I'll gladly remove mine!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZwhVrP8phI

If you're in the mood for good Christmas music and love old arcade shoot-em-ups, this game has a lot of fun humor and solid gameplay. I'm glad I was able to play!
