Imagine Lifetimes is an odd duck. A good duck, but an odd one nonetheless.

As a concept, "life simulators" (a title, in hindsight, I'm hesitant to give this game) are nothing new. Frycandle puts a unique twist on the concept and delivers something that's short enough to be used as a short time waster, yet interesting enough to come back to a few times to see how progress can change.
Imagine Lifetimes straddles the line between "game" and "interactive artwork", yet doesn't really hold either moniker. There's no set objective, just a series of choices that change the outcome of the body of the game. But, I can't simply dismiss it simply as art, as there are differing branches you can take with each life.
In the end, it all leads to the same conclusion we all will face: death.
There's not much to say about the graphics, sound, controls, etc. I will say there's a subtle dark humor to it all that I would love to see turned up two-to-three notches as development continues.
In the end, Imagine Lifetimes is an odd duck. A good duck, an entertaining duck, a duck with great social and existential commentary, but an odd duck nonetheless. And I absolutely love it.
