I Just wanna talk about secret of the mimic so I'll post my thoughts here (SPOILERS AHEAD)

First of all, before I get into what I really want to say, this game is now my favorite FNAF game. It’s so fucking fun. Steel Wool really cooked and I could tell they had a lot of fun making it. Everything was a step up and just felt amazing. I’m super excited for all the projects they’ve got coming in the future, but I feel really mixed about the story.

After replaying the game, I think I’ve grown to like the story more, but it’s still way too much to process in such a short amount of time. So much lore is thrown at you in like an hour, it actually gave me a headache the first time I played it. The story isn’t simple at all, it’s super complicated. But I did really like that for the first time in a long while, the game actually tells you the story. On a replay, it’s definitely there, you just have to really look for it if that makes sense.

It also connects a lot of things back to the older games. Like there’s a whole section dedicated to Chica’s Party World, which was only mentioned once in a past FNAF game. That was super cool. But then the game just drops the biggest wrench ever into the lore, basically saying William and Henry, didn’t actually create the animatronics or the core tech. It says they basically got help from Edwin. And honestly, I’m not even sure if that’s exactly what it’s saying because the story just moves so fast and it’s so much.

I loved how strong and terrifying they made the Mimic. But it also felt way too sci-fi. Bro was basically the Terminator. Then there’s the whole thing with Edwin’s wife being M.X.E.S. and I was just sitting there like what are you even trying to tell me. It just felt like Scott saw people complaining about the lore being too convoluted and was like oh yeah you want convoluted let me show you this.

Still, the story actually did get me interested at times, so I’m hoping they clear things up in the future. Or maybe I’ll just go watch a video that explains it all for me so I can enjoy it more.

Overall, I don’t really play FNAF games for the story so it didn’t ruin the experience for me at all. I still absolutely loved it. But I can totally see a lot of people being really mixed on the game because of the story. That’s just how I feel though. If you liked the story or even didn’t like the game at all, that’s totally fair.
