I'm tired of .exes. Idk, I just think that they could be more. The concept of .exes are cool (demon takes over game character and does a massacre to take over world) but very few games really utilize this concept, and end up being pretty repetitive. Some are good (the Nightmare series, Sonic.exe PC port, and the Spirits of Hell for example), but the majority of .exes are identical, and it's pretty boring. So, what does that mean for my game? Well, after seeing Mario 85, it inspired me. What if I take that concept, and put my own story on it? For example, Mario gets taken over by a demon thirsty for blood, and Luigi, Yoshi, Wario, and others have to stop it from killing everyone, and there are multiple endings depending on choices you make throughout the story. Doesn't that sound cooler? Imagine a dark Mushroom Kingdom with blood everywhere, and a twisted, almost animal-like Mario is hunting you down in the shadows, and in the levels you have to defeat twisted Goombas and Koopas and other characters. I want to create something unique, something unlike the other .exes, and I think this idea could go really far and it could turn into something great, something better than what I was going to do before. Some things will stay, like the trio Luigi, Yoshi, and Wario, but some things will have to go like Exmeller and the "glitch Mario". I hope you understand why I am doing this. I'm just burned out from all of the .exes. And although I am going to have to start ALL over AGAIN, I am already thinking of ways to make the game come out faster (maybe asking some of you to help work on the game with me? No pay, of course) but regardless of the wait, it will definitely be worth it. See you later :)
P.S.
Although the original story will not be completed, if you want to make your OWN game using that story, that is fine, since this NEW story will be almost completely different. If you want, I can even tell you the ENTIRETY of what Round 1, some of round 2, A New Timeline, AND the backstory/lore was going to be if you want it, then you can do whatever you want with it. I don't really care if you credit me or not because my new story is completely different.
