This is estimated because I only have some render records and old files from my hard drives that I recovered recently.
The exact dates of when I started and when I actually worked on my Blender skills are impossible to tell. I always used a ZIP version of Blender that I installed manually. Later, around 2017–2018, I switched to the Windows Store version of Blender.
I did try my luck with Steam Blender, but the updates were always too late for me. I would read about a release, and with the Microsoft Store and ZIP install, I always got them first, so I never fully switched.
To be fair, probably 99% of these hours were just goofing off, messing with the features to figure them out. :P
1. Low Usage Phase (First 5 Years)
Sessions per week: 3
Hours per session: 5
Weeks per year: 52
Total hours per year:
3 × 5 × 52 = 780 hours
Total for 5 years:
780 × 5 = 3,900 hours
2. Normal Usage Phase (Next 9 Years)
Days per week: 5 (excluding 2 random break days)
Hours per day: 4
Weeks per year: 52
Baseline total per year:
5 × 4 × 52 = 1,040 hours
Adjusting for Breaks
Computer broke: 3 months total (1 + 2 months) →
3 × 4 = 12 weeks lost
Vacations per year: 1.5 weeks per year on average
Total lost weeks per year:
12/9 + 1.5 = 2.83 weeks per year
Effective weeks per year:
52 - 2.83 = 49.17 weeks
Adjusted yearly total:
5 × 4 × 49.17 = 983.33 hours
Total for 9 years:
983.33 × 9 = 8,850 hours
3. Recent Usage Phase (Last 1 Year, 2024-2025)
Estimated decrease: 50% of normal usage
Total hours for 1 year:
983.33 × 0.5 = 491.67 hours
Final Total
3,900 + 8,850 + 491.67 = 13,241.67 hours
Rounded Total: ~13,242 hours
