I'll start the pro's rn
the music is godlike and the environments are fantastic to explore, it has got to be the most immersive game in the series and steel wool cooked on this to the maximum and it shows. The MIMC is both a badass and really cool (and a bitch but we'll get to that), the idea of him being the only enemy in the whole game and him just going into every animatronic (Nurse Dollie, Big Top, all the costumes and Jackie) is awesome and made me love him so much. On top of that the story (FOR EDWARD, DAVID, FLORA AND MUNIC) is tragic, sad, dark and is fantastic to understand and listen to, fnaf to me has always been a sad sort of series where if you think hard enough (first six games) and for the longest time the steel wool era has not made me feel emotional at any point. The last time I played a steel wool game was SB + Ruin and those didn't make me feel anything (expect hate for SB, Ruin's mid) but I can say that without a doubt that this is my favorite game from steel wool and I'm happy with what we got.
That being said... After playing the game for a sconed time, I can't say that the game is "Peak" because there are somethings that I don't like about the game.
I wanna start with the middle first, things I don't like but don't think are things that pull back the game aside from a few people.
Context for this next bit: I used an Xbox controller to play the game, so idk if this is a controller thing or not but thought to say it anyway; The interacting action sometimes doesn't response and takes a few presses to do the thing I want it to do. This isn't really that bad but can be annoying if I'm being chased or if I'm wanting to speedrun things and it wants to wait for 2secs just because lol, again not a big deal but thought to say it anyway. Some of the puzzles are ether cool, boring or frustrating, while I enjoyed the vast majority of them there were a few I wanted to just end it all like: Nurse Dollie's part of me grabbing the cubes and putting them in bins to open a door, that took me an hour just to find the last one because I couldn't see the damn thing or when I had to make the springlock suit and the MUMIC KEPT SPWANING IN THE ROOM WHERE I NEED TO LOWER THAT GODDAMN HEAD... overall all the puzzles are decent and I didn't have a problem with a lot of them. I wanna talk about the upgrades for your driver, I dislike the fact that you have to do the same thing every single time with little to no variety. Again not a deal breaker but boring and repetitive
Now, the cons.
Some of you might not be shocked by what I'm going to say and some might be, but Jackie getting less then 5 MINUTES IN THE WHOLE GAME IS RIDICULOUS. Why does steel Wool treat there flagships like this? Jackie has had less screentime then Vanny and MIMIC from SB/Ruin somehow, this is dogshit and I'm annoyed that she was put in everything that had to do with this game and she was treated like an afterthought. If someone said to me that they bought the game just to see this character and they finish that part where she's in and ask me if "that's it?" and I say "yes", then I wouldn't be shocked if people thought it was a scam. I'm happy that she was given a lot of character traits when she was on screen and felt like a threat which is cool, just wish Steel Wool did her justice then what they did with her. Steel wool needs to stop hyping characters up only to then treat them like dogshit after, imo it doesn't matter how much detail was put into that character because if the story treats them like a one time thing when the game gave the idea that they'll be important then that's bad, end of story. Now another thing I'm gonna say rn is that I hate the elevator puzzles, truth be told I'm not great with puzzles in general and this is me being bad but I didn't have fun doing them for the first time which caused me to die over and over again due to me not understanding what the lady was on about lol. The 2nd time wasn't that bad but I'm still not a fan of them and are not memorable to the game imo. The big one for me is the MIMIC for the gameplay, remember when I said that the springlock building part of the game was shit? Well HE'S THE REASON WHY:
I go up the stairs not before grabbing the mouse in case I need it, I lower the head and BOOM! MINIC takes a custom next to me which leads to my death. This happened for both runs and took me the MOST TIME OUT OF THE WHOLE GAME.
This is my least favorite part of the game and I never want to go though that a third time, the fact that he can spawn in front of you if your unlucky is annoying and frustrating in some parts, but his gameplay AI itself is good (expect when he camps), it's just him spawning out of nowhere and leading to an unfair death is why I dislike that part of his gameplay. And now the final thing about this game that holds it back, the fact you have to play the whole game again just for an ending. In order to get this ending you need to collect 25 collectables throughout the building and do the true ending before this, as for one of them you need to play "new game +" which you can only get after beating the true ending. This imo is a shit way of padding out your game after dumping at least 7 or maybe even 11 hours into it and have to replay everything just for this one ending. I don't like games doing this but at least the game keeps your items that you've gathered in your journey the first time you play the game (THANK GOD FOR THAT). The ending itself is sad and tragic but I don't think it was worth doubling my playtime to see it lol.
And that's it, I've rambled and gone on long enough. This game is really good and I recommended you buy it for the first playthrough (the true and bad ending can be done on the same save). After that don't do the other ending as it's not worth it and I'm convinced that the secret ending is why the game costs 40$ (60$ over here :/).
Good day/night everyone, will see you later lol.
