i've wanted to create a mascot horror game inspired by fnaf and poppy playtime, i want it to be unique and some what original, with a story thats fun and interesting, and lore that wont make fans confused, and i wanted the game to have animatronics, ones inspired by showbiz pizza and chuck e cheese, no soul possesion but still a bit paranormal, like the old days of fnaf.

My worries:

but one thing is crossing my mind when i thought of this, "will fnaf fans think i'm copying/ripping off fnaf and poppy playtime?" i've seen people comment before on new mascot horror games in development like say Pinatta Puppy World or joyville, with Pinatta Puppy Worlds segmented animatronics (though idk if thats a bad thing) and Joyville with its huggy wuggy looking mascot (which i dont understand why some mascot horror games have to have a character with big red lips), while fnaf is a huge inspiration for me, i dont want to just copy scotts style of modeling or style of story telling, i plan to gather loads of reference and inspiration for this project, it will take a while but i want this game to prove that mascot horror can be great again, like a love letter to the genre.

i wont create a game page just yet, i feel like if i did make one too soon, i wouldnt be sure if the game would be finished or not, so for now i'll just post some progress every once in a while. (then again idk if i'll post it on gamejolt)

some fnaf fan games have also been a huge inspiration for me as well, like popgoes evergreen and fnaf blood and gears.

Challenges with originality

and lastly ever since i began learning game dev, i always wanted to make a mascot horror game, but sometimes its hard to think of something original when loads of kids entertainment locations/genres have been used, like fnaf with a pizzeria, poppy playtime with toys/toy factory, indigo park with disney styled amusement parks, and bendy and the ink machine with old timey cartoons.
