Hi everyone,
I wanted to address the lack of updates regarding the project. Development progress has been inconsistent on my end. There are times when a lot gets done in a short period, and other times when the project goes untouched for a while. Because of that, I have not been posting dev logs or regular updates.
That said, progress has still been happening during the quiet periods. I chose to hold off on sharing until there was something substantial and worth showing. My goal was to make sure that once updates started again, there would be real progress to present rather than small fragments.
I want to apologize for the silence, especially to those who have been looking forward to updates. I truly appreciate the patience and support. I also want to reassure everyone that both I and the team have been working hard behind the scenes and are taking this project more seriously than ever.
I also want to clearly explain why I decided to convert this project from a fangame into an original game.
In all honesty, I want to move forward and focus on creating original games. I have loved FNAF for a long time, and I still do. It has inspired me greatly. However, I felt that continuing to work within the FNAF universe would eventually limit my growth, especially as my ideas and vision for Shadows Awaken continued to evolve over time.
I know I could have started a completely separate non FNAF project instead, and that is a fair question. The reason I chose not to do that is because the ideas I developed still belonged to Shadows Awaken. This project grew with me, and its identity slowly became something original on its own.
I wanted to take pride in that journey. Shadows Awaken started as a fangame, but it has grown into something I can now call my own. Rather than abandoning it, I chose to let it evolve into an original project that better represents my current vision.
I also want to be honest about how I feel regarding its original release. I was never proud of it. To me, it felt like a failure, and I was disappointed with how it turned out.
There were moments when I seriously considered abandoning the project and starting a completely new one, carrying only the vision of what Shadows Awaken could have been. However, I came to an important realization. I have been making games for around eight years now, and none of them have truly become a finished project. I do not count the Final Nights fangame, since it was not fully my own original work.
Because of that, I decided not to run away from this project. Instead, I chose to confront it, improve it, and reshape it into something I can finally be proud of.
I truly hope you all understand my decision. I have loved FNaF for a long time, and I still do to this day. At the same time, I also put a lot of care and passion into my own projects. This time, I chose to pursue that passion while also choosing my own path forward.
This page will be updated very soon once there is enough to properly show. For now, I would like to share some screenshots from the game. More content will be posted soon. Moving forward, I plan to start posting updates at least two to three times a week.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to support this project until now. I truly appreciate every single one of you. :)
