The current game description is as follows:
"The game will tell about a small furry friend, looking for his place in society. There are many problems on his way and he will look for a compromise, the opportunity to go online will help him to get into people. Describing such a huge flow of data is naturally problematic for an ordinary person, but hope helps him to start all over again, to create a new world from scratch, where there will be no drama and problems with individuality, to be himself is his motto and he will be able to defend his rights, if they exist."
This game concept is about identity, societal acceptance, and an online simulation. Pix’s idea focuses on philosophy and self-expression. My idea is different in many ways: it is an open-world dating sim where an AI algorithm tries to keep you socially isolated.
With this in mind, I am working to merge both ideas by applying some of my own concepts to Pix’s plot.
Here is the first draft of a potential plot:
The game takes place in an online simulation where the protagonist is searching for their place in society. This simulation is controlled by an AI, which is conducting experiments to understand how to keep users isolated and compliant. Throughout their journey, the protagonist faces challenges such as AI algorithms that manipulate social interactions, conflicts with other users within the simulation, and struggles with self-doubt. As they navigate this virtual world, hope drives them to connect with others and ultimately uncover the truth about their reality, questioning whether to accept the AI’s control or fight for their freedom and rights.
This takes a huge leap away from my own ideas, but I think it could work just as well as my own. Dating sim elements could also be added in some ways, in order to allow for the player to form relationships with in-game characters. With enough effort, I+U could be truly unique from existing games.
The art style would blend pixel art, digital drawings, and photoshop edits, featuring a more consistent and ordered version of the surreal environment design shown in cruelty squad.

A screenshot of what "Cruelty Squad" looks like. This design could work, but doesn't fit well with the game concept. Such an artstyle would need to be adjusted.
I will be creating a simple environment design shortly, as to demonstrate my current creative vision.
