This may be a long read, but I want to be completely honest. Game development has been stressful for me, and I’ve realized that it’s not something I truly enjoy — it never really has been. I wanted to make FNaPF hoping it would be enjoyed and grow a cult following, but it hasn’t given me the fulfillment I expected.
I’m moving fully into writing creepypastas and making animations, which are the creative outlets that truly bring me satisfaction. After the hard drive failure, recovering most of my work isn’t possible, and starting from scratch would be too overwhelming. From now on, I want people to focus on my stories and shows.
I’ve spent a lot of time on the 2014–2015 style of FNaPF, but it’s clear that it no longer resonates enough to justify the effort. This doesn’t mean FNaPF 3 is canceled — I will work on it if I choose to — but I can’t commit to game development beyond that. The Urban Legends story series will continue.
This is goodbye to game design. I need to focus on what I truly enjoy and what I can sustain creatively.
I also want to be honest about something important: I know some people might be upset by this, and I take full accountability. I relied on MFAs and other sources to help me make these games, including FNaF 1’s source code and plans to use Five Nights at Wario’s – Return to the Factory 2’s MFA for FNaPF 3. I can’t honestly call myself a game developer — this was not entirely legitimate, and I should’ve approached it differently.
I also know I could have hired game developers, but I doubt anyone would truly understand what I wanted for this series. My vision was to keep it nostalgic like FNaW, not polished HD — something that many people still don’t understand, even when it’s right in front of them.
Rant aside, if I want to do FNaPF 3 without traditional game development, I may find a workaround and integrate it into something I enjoy creating. Regardless, I am truly grateful for the support this series has received — for recording, writing, or simply checking it out. Thank you.
