Unreal Engine 4
Unreal Engine 4 is the platform I use to develop Five Nights at Freddy’s: Witness, my second-ever game. After three years of working with it, I’ve found it straightforward to learn and enjoyable for game creation. However, there are challenges. Occasionally, I run into issues trying to implement specific features, and it's difficult to find tutorials or solutions for the exact thing I need. This can hinder creativity at times. Despite that, I still love the engine and appreciate the supportive community around it.
Unity
Unity is another popular game engine, known for titles like Slime Rancher and Shotgun Farmers, among many others. It's a more lightweight engine compared to Unreal, both in terms of installation size and project files. Unity shares some similarities with Unreal in functionality, but the programming side differs significantly since it uses C# instead of C++. Unity is also capable of handling complex projects, and you can create sophisticated games with it.
Conclusion
Both Unreal Engine and Unity are powerful tools for game development. They can handle complex code, textures, and shaders, making them suitable for a wide range of projects. Ultimately, both engines are excellent choices, depending on your needs
